A Bank of Montreal campus branch client

After an undistinguished year in second year Arts, I took a year out working in the Bank of Montreal’s campus branch, where I met Walter Gage who was a client. At the time, the requirement to enter Law was a minimum of three years of Arts, but Dean Gage interceded on my behalf to permit me to enter in 1956. This act seems to have been typical of the kind and benevolent interest that he took in so many students, and for whom so many owe him a debt of gratitude.
