It made me feel very welcomed and included

When I was in first year and early in the term I was digging through my locker before my Saturday morning Math class when I was approached in the hall by Walter Gage. I was a little nervous speaking to the great man but he asked where I was from. I said Victoria.

He asked if I had heard of an Ira Dilworth. I said my father was taught by Ira Dilworth at Victoria High School in the early 1930’s. Through that connection Walter was able to determine who my father was and several others from Victoria – all in the space of 5 minutes before class. It made me feel very welcomed and included. Never forgot this.
