Christmas song fest at Fort Camp

In the early 1960’s Colleen Gilker was a hard working student from Kaslo, a small Kootenay town. Struggling with finances, in spite of taking on two summer jobs and working for room and board, she approached Dean Gage for a loan. Dean Gage received her with compassion and granted the $250 loan. As loan co-signer I fondly remember his friendly supportive demeanor to this day. What an inspiration!
Dean Gage organized a Christmas song fest in December of 1956 at the Fort Camp dining hall. It was a great student community event, warmly recalled some 62 years later.
